This year’s spring dance concert features an exciting new contemporary ballet, set to the music of minimalist composer Arvo Pärt, by new dance faculty Lawrence Jackson.  This work strives to engage the same dynamism and openness found in the music, infusing the classical form of ballet with a new sense of vibrancy and uncovering the freedom that lies within the form itself. The second half of the concert will feature Cavatina, a classical ballet set to Beethoven’s String Quartet in B flat, opus 130, by Graham Lustig of the American Repertory Ballet and a new work by acclaimed contemporary choreographer Peter Pucci.
