TUESDAY, AUGUST 25TH, 6:00-10:00 P.M., MAINSTAGE

(all three shows)

  • Please sign up for a time slot on the callboard and prepare a 2-3 minute monologue.
  • Please come with headshot and resume.
  • Please arrive ahead of your scheduled time in order to fill out an audition form.
  • We will also have you do a short reading from the SIX SONGS script.

Incoming Freshman and Transfer Students: If you do not have a prepared monologue or headshot and are interested in auditioning, PLEASE SIGN UP FOR A TUESDAY SLOT ANYWAY. This will give us the opportunity to meet you and talk with you.

 

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 26TH

4-6pm Movement Callback for Actors – Mains Dance Studio
7-10pm Readings from THE CRUCIBLE & SEAGULLS – Mainstage & Studio Theatre
7:30-10:30pm Dance auditions for SIX SONGS – Mains Dance Studio

Scenes to be read will be selected at the time of audition.

THE CRUCIBLE is readily available in Coe Library, Albany County Public Library, or the departmental library (check out scripts from Jack Chapman in FA 205). The following scenes will be used for readings:

Act One:
Abigail/Parris:
Start: Abigail “Uncle, the rumor of witchcraft…” End: Abigail “I will not black my face…”
Abigail/Mary Warren/Mercy Lewis/Betty:
Start: Abigail “How is Ruth sick?” End: Abigail “I say shut it Mary Warren!”
Abigail/John Proctor:
Start: Proctor “What’s this mischief here?” End: Abigail “…you love me yet.”
Parris/Hale/Putnam/Mrs. Putnam/Rebecca Nurse/Giles Corey:
Start: Parris: “Will you look at my daughter…” End: Hale “Ah! The stoppage of prayer…”

Act Two:
John Proctor/Elizabeth Proctor:
Start: Elizabeth “Let you go to Ezekiel Cheever…” End: Elizabeth “I never thought you but a good man…”
Proctor/Elizabeth/Mary Warren:
Start: Mary “I must tell you sir, I will be gone…” End: Mary “Good night.”

Act Three:
Danforth/Giles Corey/Putnam/Hathorne
Start: Hathorne “What lawyer drew this Corey?” End: Giles “I cannot give you no name sir…”

Act Four:
Proctor/Elizabeth/:
Start: Proctor “I have been thinking I would confess…” End: Proctor “I want my life.”and warm up.
