Classic Ballet Among UW Television Program Segments

Dec. 11, 2006 -- Basketball, skiing and a classic holiday ballet will be topics of a public affairs program that can be seen Thursday, Dec. 14, at 7:30 p.m. on KCWC, Wyoming Public Television. The program will be repeated at 5:30 p.m. on both Sunday, Dec. 17 and Sunday, Dec. 24.

The semi-monthly University of Wyoming program, "Wyoming Signatures," features a segment on UW’s recent performance of Tchaikovsky’s classic, “The Nutcracker.” The production featured an 1890s’ old west theme, with the set and costumes inspired by Laramie’s Ivinson Mansion.

Also on the program are ski-tuner Mitch Bock and UW basketball coach Steve McClain. Bock will offer hints for getting skis tuned up for the winter season, and McClain will talk about this year’s team and share some of his basketball philosophies.

"Wyoming Signatures" is produced by UW Television. KCWC can be seen off-air or via cable in communities throughout Wyoming, including Casper, Cheyenne, Laramie, Riverton, Lander, Rock Springs, Green River, Powell, Cody, Sheridan, Gillette, Jackson, Pinedale and Big Piney.
