April 30, 2008 -- Nick Linn, a University of Wyoming senior theatre major from Rapid City, S.D., won both the National Partners of the American Theatre (NAPAT) Classical Acting Award and the Dell'Arte/Mad River Festival Fellowship. The awards were announced at the recent national Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) in Washington, D.C.

Linn was among only 16 national finalists selected for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship Competition at KCACTF and was awarded the NAPAT Classical Acting Award as a result of his work in the Irene Ryan Evening of Scenes.

Members of the National Partners of the American Theatre, many of whom are members of the KCACTF National Committee, sponsor the award. It recognizes demonstrated excellence in classical acting on the national level and carries a cash grant to be used further the winner's theatrical training.

In addition to the NAPAT Classical Acting Award, Linn received the Dell'Arte/Mad River Festival Fellowship. Dell'Arte International is an organization devoted to the art of the actor/creator and to the development of a Theatre of Place. Linn's fellowship will allow him to attend this summer’s Mad River Festival in northern California, where he will attend master classes taught by resident faculty and international guest artists-in-residence.
