Parking Services Officer

Job Duties:

The main responsibility of this position is to enforce the University of Wyoming parking regulations on campus. It may also involve revenue collection, data entry, and other duties as assigned. Applicants must be able to provide quality customer service at all times and remain calm in stressful and sometimes difficult situations.

Transit & Parking Services is very flexible working with student schedules. Weekly hours can range anywhere from 10 - 20 hours. The normal hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.  Please note that this position requires occasional weekend and night work.  Position includes frequent pay scale reviews.  

Desired Qualifications:

  • Customer service experience.

  • Ability to work in a professional team environment.
    Must be able to work in harsh weather conditions including Laramie winters.

Van Driver/Dispatcher

Job Duties:

UW Transit & Parking Services is hiring van drivers and dispatchers for our demand response services. CDL licenses are not required for this position, but a clean driving record is! The demand response services for this position include SafeRide, LaramieLink Dial-A-Ride, and Paratransit. These van services pick up riders on an “on-call” basis. Applicants will be trained to drive and dispatch for the services.

  • Safely operate UW transit vehicles on demand response services. Pick-up and drop off passengers at locations within Laramie

  • Safety inspections of vehicles to ensure equipment is operating within safe operating parameters.

  • Dispatch vehicles/drivers and schedule rides.

  • Maintain inventory of first aid and blood borne pathogen kits.

  • Assist with shop and cleaning duties, maintain bus and shelter cleanliness.

  • Orient and train new drivers and dispatchers as required.

  • Provide excellent customer service to all passengers, offer assistance and answer questions for passengers as required.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills/Requirements:
In order to be considered for employment the following criteria must be met.

  1. Applicants MUST be able to start training right away and MUST be able to work during the fall and spring semesters.

  3. Applicants must provide 3 work related references.

Part-Time Bus Driver

Job Purpose:

UW Transit & Parking Services is seeking both experienced CDL (Class A or B) drivers and non-experienced drivers with a clean driving record interested in driving transit buses for the University of Wyoming Roundup Transit System.

  • CDL training is currently being offered with the Transit & Parking Services department.

  • Starting salary varies from $11.10 to $12.10/hr depending on experience and current certifications.

  • General working hours range from 15 to 25 hours a week, but will vary depending on the availability of the applicant and needs of the department.

  • Shifts Currently Open: 10:00 AM -7:00PM  

  • APPLICANTS MUST BE AVAILABLE FOR ENTIRITY OF SHIFT 2-3 TIMES/WEEK (M-F)

Class A or B is preferred for bus driving positions.  Passenger endorsement is preferred, but can be obtained internally if required. Training is available for applicants without a CDL drivers' license.
