Transit and Parking Services is looking for qualified applicants to join our team! We are hiring for a range of positions. Interested individuals should check the most current job listing under the HR site. Transit and Parking Services is very flexible working with student schedules. Weekly hours can range anywhere from 10 - 20 hours for part-time jobs.

Front Desk Assistant

Please Note:

General office hours are Monday through Friday from 7:15 am to 5:30 pm. Occasional weekend work may be required. Applicants should be available to work 7-15 hours a week during the spring and summer semesters.

After successfully completing a 4 month probationary period, salary will increase to $10.50/hour.

The Transit & Parking offices will be closed 12/22/18 – 1/1/19. 

1) Applicants MUST be available to work during the spring and summer.  

2) Applicants MUST be able to work Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm during the Spring semester.

3)  Applicants must submit a SPRING semester availability matrix to kira.winters@uwyo.edu to be considered for hire.  A matrix can be found online at www.uwyo.edu/tps/_files/matrix.xlsx.

4)  Applications will be reviewed in beginning December 7th.  Applicants must be able to start by mid-January.

Essential Duties:

The primary responsibility of this position is handling front desk operations; helping customers with permit sales, processing citation payments, resolving customer issues, answering the phone, data entry, and filing.  Other duties may include, but not limited to: organizing mailings, daily accounting processes, and assisting the office associate where needed.

Talent Parts Assistant

Please Note:

Starting salary is $9.25/hr.  The position salary is dependent on experience and will be determined during hiring process. 

General working hours range from 10 to 20 hours a week, but will vary depending on the availability of the applicant and needs of the department. 

Work location is bus garage located in the lower level of the Service Building at 14th and Lewis.

Essential Duties:

  • Main responsibilities will be inventory and organization of parts for university transit maintenance operations.  Make runs to various parts dealers in town to obtain/return parts.  Monitor and alert shop supervisors when supplies require restocking. 

  • Order parts as from manufacturers, distributors and local vendors as directed.  

    Maintain parts organization system including labeling and ID assignment. 

  • Maintain software systems that track parts inventory. 

  • Other duties may include data entry, filing, and other miscellaneous duties.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Successful applicant must have very strong skills in the Microsoft Office software package, primarily Microsoft Excel.

  • Applicant must have very strong computer, communication, and organization skills.  Strong problem solving ability is a must.  Successful applicant will display a history of being punctual and reliable.

  • Previous experience in parts inventory would be a definite preference.

Parking Services Officer

Job Duties:

The main responsibility of this position is to enforce the University of Wyoming parking regulations on campus. It may also involve revenue collection, data entry, and other duties as assigned. Applicants must be able to provide quality customer service at all times and remain calm in stressful and sometimes difficult situations.

Skills/Requirements:

  • Must be able to work in harsh weather conditions including Laramie winters.

Van Driver/Dispatcher

Job Duties:

UW Transit & Parking Services is hiring van drivers and dispatchers for our demand response services. CDL licenses are not required for this position, but a clean driving record is! The demand response services for this position include SafeRide, LaramieLink Dial-A-Ride, and Paratransit. These van services pick up riders on an “on-call” basis. Applicants will be trained to drive and dispatch for the services.

  • Safely operate UW transit vehicles on demand response services. Pick-up and drop off passengers at locations within Laramie

  • Safety inspections of vehicles to ensure equipment is operating within safe operating parameters.

  • Dispatch vehicles/drivers and schedule rides.

  • Maintain inventory of first aid and blood borne pathogen kits.

  • Assist with shop and cleaning duties, maintain bus and shelter cleanliness.

  • Orient and train new drivers and dispatchers as required.

  • Provide excellent customer service to all passengers, offer assistance and answer questions for passengers as required.

  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills/Requirements:
In order to be considered for employment the following criteria must be met.

  1. Applicants MUST be able to start training right away and MUST be able to work during the fall and spring semesters.
