Scheduling Coordinator

Job Duties:

The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of personnel schedules for all UW Transit Employees. This involves collaborating with multiple supervisors, employees, and managers in creating, refining and updating weekly personnel schedules. Responsibilities also include maintaining employee availability and leave requests as well as updating calendars and databases as necessary. Other duties may include data entry, filing, and other miscellaneous duties.

Starting salary is $10.00/hr. but the position is eligible for an increased pay rate depending on experience which will be determined during the hiring process.

Successful applicant must be available on Tuesdays and Wednesdays on a weekly basis. Scheduling will be flexible for all other weekdays.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office software package

  • Reliable and dependable

  • Ability to multi-task, be detail oriented and organize efficiently and effectively

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent computer skills and ability to learn new programs quickly

Desired Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

  • Possess strong skills in the Microsoft Office software package, primarily Microsoft Excel.

  • Maintain strong computer, communication, and organization skills, with robust problem solving abilities.

  • Previous experience in employee scheduling and working with time clock software.

  • Experience in data entry and filing.

Parking Services Officer

Job Duties:

The main responsibility of this position is to enforce the University of Wyoming parking regulations on campus. It may also involve revenue collection, data entry, and other duties as assigned. Applicants must be able to provide quality customer service at all times and remain calm in stressful and sometimes difficult situations.

Van Driver/Dispatcher

This position is hiring for both the Spring and Fall. Summer work not required but training will start in August.

JOB PURPOSE: 

Perform the duties of Van Driver/Dispatcher on various Demand Response operational services.  These Demand Response services include Paratransit, SafeRide, and Laramie Link Dial - A - Ride. These van services pick up riders on an "on-call" basis. CDL license is not required for this position, but a clean driving record is.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Applicants will be trained to drive and dispatch for the services.

  • Safely operate UW transit vehicles. Pick-up and drop off passengers at locations within Laramie.

  • Complete safety inspections of vehicles to ensure equipment is operating within safe operating parameters. Maintain inventory of equipment.

  • Dispatch vehicles/drivers and schedule rides.

  • Assist with shop and cleaning duties, maintain vehicle and office cleanliness.

  • Provide excellent customer service to all passengers, offer assistance and answer questions for passengers as required.

  • Orient and train new drivers and dispatchers as required.

  • Assist drivers in maintaining passenger safety and provide directions to drivers. 

  • All other duties as assigned.

Part-Time Mechanic


JOB PURPOSE:
Assist in shop duties including vehicle repair and maintenance, shop cleaning, fluids upkeep and anything needed to keep the shop at full efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in helping with vehicle maintenance and repairs

  • Assist in preventative maintenance and services including yearly services

  • Disassemble and reassemble vehicles, equipment and/or machinery; examine parts for excessive wear using micrometer, calipers and gauges.

  • Ensure the fluids cabinet is stocked every morning and all jugs are refilled

  • Help with shop cleaning

  • Fill out work orders after repairs are completed

  • Help with tool repairs and maintenance as needed

  • Assist in vehicle transportation to outsourced

  • Assist in running parts when needed

  • Help in reporting when parts or fluids stock may be low  

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Experience: 

Required education, licensure, certification, registration, or other requirement:

  • Valid Wyoming driver's license is necessary

  • Ability to obtain Wyoming commercial driver's license (CDL) after employment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Mechanical repair and maintenance of assigned vehicles, equipment and machinery.

  • Machinery, vehicle and/or equipment operation and inspection.

  • Defect and malfunction analysis techniques.

  • Hand tools

  • Pneumatic tools

  • Floor jacks and lifts

  • Grinding and cut off wheels

  • Barrel dollies and ladders.

Skills and Abilities to:

  • Adjust focus, identify and distinguish between colors, and judge distance and spatial relationships.

  • Apply mechanical repair and maintenance of assigned vehicles, equipment and machinery.

  • Use hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to sufficiently and safely operate the tools and equipment necessary to perform essential functions.

  • Use endurance and dexterity required for maintaining awkward positions such as climbing, stooping, and twisting for extended periods of time and in various weather conditions.

  • Move and manipulate heavy objects (50-100 pounds) regularly.

  • Read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.

  • Understand and follow complex, detailed technical instructions.

  • Use hand and power tools applicable to the trade.

  • Perform inspections and make necessary adjustments to conform to job specifications. 

  • Work in elevated locations.

  • Fill out paperwork.

  • Foster a cooperative work environment.

Car Washer

JOB PURPOSE:

Clean and maintain Car Rental Vehicles.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Check in with immediate supervisor each work day for any important information or duties. 

  • Perform Pre and Post inspections for damages, rock chips, and broken windshields.

  • Fuel vehicles in the AM. Have ready for cleaning.

  • Have rental vehicles ready for customers on time. 

  • Prep vehicles including but not limited to: vacuum interior to remove loose dirt and debris, washing interior surfaces, washing exterior of the vehicle. 

  • Keep work area clean and free of hazards. Empty all trash containers daily. 

  • Perform basic maintenance check which includes but not limited to: fluids, damages, tire maintenance. 

  • Work with Office Associated on all upcoming rental vehicle schedule and/or changes.

  • Complete all other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

  • Some Sunday shifts.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
