Parking Enforcement Officer

JOB PURPOSE:

Enforce the University of Wyoming parking regulations on campus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The main responsibility of this position is to enforce the University of Wyoming parking regulations on campus. It may also involve revenue collection, data entry, and other duties as assigned. Applicants must be able to provide quality customer service at all times and remain calm in stressful and sometimes difficult ituations.

Transportation Services is very flexible working with student schedules. Weekly hours can range anywhere from 10 - 28 hours. The normal hours of operation are Monday - Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.  Please note that this position requires occasional weekend and night work.  Position includes frequent pay scale reviews.

Shuttle Driver

JOB PURPOSE:

Drivers will shuttle vehicles between maintenance facility and car rental office between 7:30 am – 4:30 pm (summer hours) and 7:30 am – 5:00 pm (academic hours). Will work with class schedules.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Check-in with immediate supervisor each work day for any important information or duties.

  • Fuel vehicles upon return.

  • Transporting vehicles.

  • Prep vehicles for outgoing rentals.

  • Provide courtesy rides for customers as needed.

Driver/Dispatcher

JOB PURPOSE:

Provide demand response transportation to the UW and Laramie community. These services operate on an "on-call" basis. Applicants will be trained to drive and dispatch for any of these services dependant on availability. These demand response services inclue:

  • SafeRide: an alternate late night transportation service

    • Hours of operation (academic year): Thursday - Saturday 8:30pm - 3:30am

  • LaramieLink Dial-A-Ride: an alternate fixed route public transit service

    • Hours of operation (academic year): Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30am​​​​​​​, Saturday - Sunday 9:30am - 10:30pm

  • Paratransit: complentary ADA service for those with disabilities

    • ​​​​​​​Hours of operation (academic year): Monday - Friday 6:00am - 7:00pm

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Safely operate UW transit vehicles to include the transportation of passengers.

  • Perform safety inspections of vehicles to ensure equipment is operating within safe parameters. Maintain inventory of equipment.

  • Dispatch and schedule rides.

  • Assist with shop and vehicle cleaning.

  • Orient and train new employees as required.

  • Provide excellent customer service, offer assistance and answer questions from passengers as required.

  • All other duities as assigned.

Part-Time Bus Driver

The working hours for these positions vary between 5:30am – 11:00pm depending on your availability. 
Pre-employment drug screening and review of motor vehicle record history are required.

JOB PURPOSE:

Operate UW buses on regularly scheduled routes. Serves campus and Laramie community. Hours to fit any availability, commercial driver's license (CDL) not needed to apply. In-house CDL training program. Paid to earn several other valuable certifications that make you an asset to companies in the future, weekends off, paid to attend University of Wyoming Football games and other sporting events (dependent on availability to operate event bus routes).

Part-Time Mechanic

JOB PURPOSE:

To assist the shop team in servicing and maintaining the University bus fleet to ensure safe and functional equipment for the University student use.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic to intermediate vehicle/equipment maintenance and repairs to Transit and Parking Services fleet.  Diagnose, maintain, repair, and adjust buses as necessary to keep fleet in optimum and safe condition.

  • Perform and complete annual vehicle inspections, to also include all occupant safety and emergency systems. Make adjustments as needed.

  • Perform timely routine vehicle preventive maintenance program in accordance with DOT and FTA regulations to ensure safe operating condition of entire fleet.

  • Inspect vehicle components, parts, and accessories on Transit & Parking Services fleet to ensure safe operation that is compliant with all DOT, FTA, and ADA regulations.

  • General shop cleaning and organizational duties such as, keeping fluid cabinets stocked and organized, disposing of used fluids properly and as necessary.

  • Operates/Maintains tools, equipment, and shop area for the purpose of ensuring availability and safety.

  • Prepares written materials (repair and maintenance logs, parts lists) for supervisor to ensure all data is entered into work management system.

  • Responds to road calls as necessary. Arrange for towing, bus replacement, or field repairs if necessary.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Lead Technician or Shop Manager.

  • Must complete drug test and MVR prior to starting

Mechanic, Transit Bus

JOB PURPOSE:

Perform intermediate to advanced diagnoses and repair University-owned and University-affiliated transit buses and other vehicles as required. Assist in all other repairs and preventative maintenance as needed.

Please Note: 

  • This position is grant-funded and considered "at-will."

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, test, diagnose, and repair diesel and/or gas vehicles and equipment. Inspect vehicle components, parts, and accessories to ensure safe operation that is compliant with all DOT, FT, and ADA regulations. Adhere to safety and preventative maintenance standards and procedures.

  • Read and interpret vehicle manuals and schematics to perform complex repairs/maintenance.

  • Disassemble and reassemble vehicles; examine parts for excessive wear using micrometer, calipers and gauges.

  • Repair and replace parts to resolve malfunctions; clean equipment/parts by washing with solvents, soaps and water or steam cleaning; perform preventive maintenance on equipment/parts to ensure work life and efficiency.

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and shop area for the purpose of ensuring availability and safety.

Charter/Bus Driver

JOB PURPOSE:

Operate both short and long-haul University sponsored charter bus trips. Drive transit shuttles on fixed routes.

The regular working hours for this position are 6:00am-3:00pm Monday - Friday. Other hours may vary depending upon charter requirements.
