Monica Keele DVM MPH

Monica Keele DVM, MPH
AWARE Program Coordinator, 

  1. Where are you from? I am from Murfreesboro, Tennessee and have been in the Rocky Mountain region for nearly 3 years in Fort Collins, Colorado. I am happy to call my new home Laramie.

  2. What do you like best about your job? My public health background drives my passion to empower others to take control of their health and wellness. Through my work I am able to give students the tools to do so by encouraging responsible choices regarding drug and alcohol use. 

  3. Favorite things? I love the outdoors, especially camping and hiking. I also am an avid gamer, reader, and dancer.

  1. Where are you from? I am from New Mexico.

  2. What do you like best about your job? I like being able to know we can make a difference in the lives of students.

  3. Favorite things? Sushi! I like Wyoming summers, riding my motorcycle, and listening to live music.

  1. Where are you from? I am originally from Northwest Ohio. 

  2. What do you like best about your job? The ability to provide students with a supportive and knowledgeable environment to discuss their choices around drug and alcohol use, as well as working with the campus and community to foster smart choices and policies.

  3. Favorite things? Being outside and active, traveling, baking, and spending time with family.

  1. Where are you from? I was raised Scott, Louisiana. I attended the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor in Belton, Texas where I received my Undergraduate and Master’s degrees. I then applied and was accepted into the University of Wyoming’s Counselor Education & Supervision PhD program.

  2. What do you like best about your job? I love working with such a genuine and caring staff. The best part about my job is the variety of individuals I get to interact with. This job also gives me a great opportunity to be an agent for change in many areas around the UW community.

  3. Favorite things? A few of my favorite things are biking, running, working out, reading, spending time with my family and friends, and Arsenal Futbol Club.

  1. Where are you from? I grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada, moved to Wyoming and graduated from Douglas High School. I have lived in Laramie since 2004.

  2. What do you like best about your job? I enjoy being able to support students in their journey at UW. The ability to work with so many students while they are exploring how to balance life is a privilege.

  3. Favorite things? I love to read, cook, and spend time with friends, family, and our dogs and cats. Music is always being sang, played, or on as background noises, because music is one of my favorite things.

  1. Where are you from? I was born and raised in Wauneta, Nebraska.
  2. What do you like best about your job? I enjoy working with the students we see both in the office and in various settings around campus. The best part of my job is there are a variety of activities and things to do.
  3. Favorite things? I enjoy hiking, bicycling, reading and being with my family.
