Large Scale Events

7220 Entertainment

The Large Scale Events Committee is responsible for bringing large name entertainers to the University of Wyoming. The committee attempts to deliver diverse acts throughout the academic year, including speakers, musicians, comedians, and other performers. The Large Scale Events Committee is expected to generate revenue from their events in order to offset costs to allow the committee to bring more acts throughout the academic year. Large Scale Event programs should cater to the University of Wyoming and Laramie communities.

Large Scale Events FAQ:

What kind of entertainment do you bring to campus?

We bring everything from concerts to comedians to speakers and everything in between. Check out our event history page for a complete list.

Where/where are the events?

The events we bring are typically in the Arts & Sciences Auditorium (A&S). However, we've also hosted shows out a Prexy's Pasture and co-sponsored events like the Cowboy Kickoff.

Is there an admission charge and how do I buy tickets?

Yes, typically we charge for our large scale events. There will always a student rate and public rate to ensure students are getting the best deal possible. Our typical student tickets run $10-$30. We utilize Fine Arts to sell our tickets. Ticket sale dates and times are listed on our website and social media outlets. Tickets are available online, by calling 307-766-6666, or visiting the Wyoming Union Info Desk or Fine Arts Box Office during normal hours of operation.

Why do you charge admission?

A concert or large scale event involves costs for the artist, production, security, marketing, etc. We want to bring as many diverse acts to Laramie and UW as possible, so we charge ticket price that is reasonable in order to ensure we're able to lessen and offset costs. We are funded solely by student fees, in order to ensure we continue to bring high caliber acts to UW, we need to charge a nominal admission to allow us to bring in other acts throughout the year.

Are seats assigned or general admission?

If the event is in A&S seats are typically assigned. If you purchase tickets in person at the Wyoming Union Info Desk or Fine Arts Box Office you will be able to select your seats. If you purchase tickets online or over the phone, tickets are assigned as best available at time of purchase.

What's the best way to find out about what events are coming up for 7220 Entertainment?

Hit us up on Collegiate Link or our social media outlets: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat. Pro-tip: subscribe to our events on Facebook.

What if I need accommodations for attending the show?

Patrons with disabilities that need transportation, should contact paratransit services at 307-766-6686 between 7:30 am - 4:30 pm. Rides must be scheduled at least one day in advance.  The shuttle is wheelchair lift equipped, and we recommend that patrons park in the Ivinson parking lot (11th & Ivinson) to meet the shuttle. For more information visit their website.

If accessible seating is needed for attending one of our ticketed shows, please contact the Fine Arts Box Office directly and let them know that you need accessible seating and they will be happy to accommodate your request. If other items are needed, such as assisted listening devices, or a transcriber please contact us directly at concerts@uwyo.edu or call 307-766-6340 and we will be happy to accommodate requests that we get.

What about parking?

Parking is free on campus after 5 pm. Parking options, a campus map, and shuttle information is outlines on TransPark's website.

Do you sell food/beverages at your events?

We typically don't sell food for our events, as food is not allowed into the venue, however, we've been working with RSO's to sell bottled water at our events as a fundraiser. If you're RSO is interested in doing this, please contact us at concerts@uwyo.edu

Will the artist be bringing merchandise to the show?

We love for visiting artists to sell merch. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't -- it's honestly up to them. If there is merchandise available, it will be for sale in the A&S lobby.

How do I get involved with the Large Scale Events Committee?

Simple! Join us at a meeting and fill out a simple form. Large Scale Events meets weekly on Wednesdays at 5 pm during the academic year in the Campus Activities Center (Union 012).

So, you're bringing my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE artist ever, how can I meet them?

Sorry, but it's our job to ensure the artist provides the best performance possible, so it's our job to provide a safe, secure, and professional environment for every artist we book. While not very typical -- if there are any meet and greet or special promotions, pay attention to our social media for those announcements.

I don't like anyone you booked to come to campus, what are you going to do about it?

Sorry! We can't please everyone. We try to book diverse genres and things we think that college students and the Laramie community will enjoy. Want input on who we bring? Join our committee and have a voice!

I'm in an RSO or a department on campus. How do I partner with 7220 Entertainment?

Complete our co-sponsorship/funding request form, found here.

What else should I know?

We hope we covered everything, but if you have questions, email us at concerts@uwyo.edu and we'll respond.
