Wyoming Union Information Desk & Ticket Office

The Wyoming Union is looking to fill TWO positions for Information Desk Attendant for Fall 2018.

Job Title: Wyoming Information Desk Attendant

Job Description: Information Desk Attendants in the Wyoming Union have various responsibilities. Specific tasks include but are not limited to:

  • Answer calls to the Information Desk and University switchboard using proper telephone etiquette.
    • Provide callers with correct information or seek assistance.
  • Provide accurate information to Campus Guests
    • Knowing where information can be found and how to access it.
  • Perform cashier functions:
    • Opening and Closing the register.
    • Process transactions through the register.
  • Support/maintain other services offered at the Information Desk including but not limited to:
    • The University's lost and found area.
    • Issue Single Day parking permits.
  • Support the University of Wyoming Fine Arts and Athletic Box Office:
  • Process payment of Box Office tickets.
  • Manage Will Call tickets when left at the Information Desk.
  • Understand multiple price levels and seating charts
  • Understand emergency procedures and assist Public Safety and other departments in the proper implementation of such in the event of an emergency.
  • Utilize computer skills (Excel, Word, Paciolan etc.).
  • Utilize University of Wyoming e-mail accounts as a way to communicate with colleagues and professional staff members.
  • Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings and regularly scheduled training/in-service sessions
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Strong inter-personal, communication and customer service skills as well as possess a high degree of attention to detail.
  • Ability to problem solve, work as a team player, and manage multiple priorities.
  • Reliability, accuracy, and flexibility related to work schedule.
  • Desire to learn and adapt to an ever changing environment.
  • Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time and assist in lifting/moving equipment and supplies.
  • Dependable and Personable

Hours per week: 10 – 20 hours

Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday 7am – 6pm

Pay Rate: $7.50 hour

Union Marketing Office

7220 Entertainment Marketing Internship

(Positions begin in the Spring Semester of 2019)

Approximately 8-10 hours a week

Can be renewed on a semester basis based on job performance

This internship is unpaid but can be utilized for credit.

Job duties include:

  • Assist the Union Marketing Office and CAC Marketing Coordinator with marketing and promotions of Campus Activities Center (CAC) events, specifically for 7220 Entertainment and its sub-committees: Films, Fine Arts & Lectures, Late Night events, Club events and Large Scale events.
  • Assist Marketing Coordinator in developing a comprehensive marketing plan for these programs.
  • Assist Marketing Coordinator with market research geared towards gaining a better understanding of student programming interests and effective and efficient marketing strategies. Research conducted using a variety of methods that will include survey tools and focus groups.
  • Writing and distributing press releases.
  • Assist in developing and overseeing social media marketing, including the management of a Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Snapchat accounts.
  • Develop a strong understanding of new technologies and their use for marketing and advertising.
  • Coordinate with 7220 Entertainment committees and programmers to implement marketing for each weekly event. This will include weekly tabling in the Union, Washakie and other buildings on campus.
  • Document events via photography and video methods to be later utilized for marketing campaigns by the CAC and 7220 Entertainment.
  • Assist in developing and implementing programming board recruitment campaigns.
  • Attend weekly meetings of the respective programming boards to which you are assigned.
  • Attend weekly meetings with Marketing Coordinator and CAC staff.

Service, Leadership and Community Engagement Office

SLCE Student Coordinator

15-20 hours per week $8.00 per hour. To apply, submit a resume, cover letter, and unofficial transcript to by 12 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20. 

Description of duties and responsibilities:
  • Work collaboratively with the other SLCE Student Coordinator to plan and execute programs such as:
    • Service Saturdays
    • The Big Event
    • The Good Mule Project
    • Pokes Vote
    • Leadership Events
    • Other SLCE-related programs and events
    • CSIL (Center for Student Involvement and Leadership) programs and events
  • Co-Chair the SLCE Advisory Board with the other SLCE Student Coordinator
  • Present to classes and organizations across campus about SLCE programs
  • Be a resource to students, RSOs, faculty/staff, and community members regarding SLCE programs and events
  • Collaborate with Student Marketing Coordinator to create website, print, and social media materials that promote SLCE programs and events
  • Represent SLCE at University events such as:
    • Campus Pass
    • Discovery Days
    • Club & Org Day
  • Serve on university committees as appointed by supervisor
  • Attend all SLCE/CSIL trainings and meetings as directed

Terms of employment:

This position is a 15-20 hours per week position. The rate of pay is based upon the Wyoming Union Student Wage Scale. Students are eligible for pay increases based upon years of service, work performance, and supervisor approval. This position will begin work during the first week of December. This position will work through finals week and not during the winter break or spring break. Specific duties may change slightly throughout the year as the SLCE Office continues to evolve.
