UW Trustees Approve Personnel Items

 University of Wyoming trustees approved the following personnel items during their meeting today (Friday).

Administrative Appointments:

Research Office
Carol D. Frost as associate vice president. She received her Ph.D. in earth sciences from the University of Cambridge.
Dorothy Yates as associate vice president. She received her M.B.A. degree from the University of Washington.

Faculty Appointments:

Department of Veterinary Sciences
Shannon Lee Swist as assistant professor. She received an M.S. and D.V.M. (2003) from Kansas State University.

College of Business
Melea D. Press as instructor. Press received an A.B. (1996) from Wellesley College and a Ph.D. (2007) from Pennsylvania State University.
Jose A. Rosa as professor. He received a B.S. (1977) from General Motors Institute, an M.A. (1992) and a Ph.D. (1992) from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.

Academic Professional Appointments:

College of Agriculture
Rachel D. Mealor as assistant extension educator. She received a B.S. (2004) and an M.S. (2007) from the University of Wyoming.

Animal Science
Adam Uthlaut as assistant research scientist. He received a B.S. (2004) from the University of Wyoming.

Changes in Faculty Appointments:

College of Agriculture
Jordanka S. Zlatanova as professor. She ends her appointment as department chair and continues as tenured professor in the Department of Molecular Biology.
Richard Arnold Olson as professor. He ends his appointment as department head and continues as a tenured professor in the Department of Renewable Resources.
Donald L. Montgomery as department head. He serves as department head of the Department of Veterinary Sciences and director of the Wyoming State Veterinary Laboratory within the College of Agriculture.
Timothy O'Toole as professor. He ends his appointment as department head and continues as a tenured professor in the Department of Veterinary Sciences.

College of Arts and Sciences
Frieda E. Knobloch as interim director. She will serve as an interim director for a one-year term.
Eric J. Sandeen as professor. He steps down as department head while on an academic year sabbatical.
Jeanne E. Holland as associate professor. She ends her appointment as director and interim director in the Women's Studies Program and continues as a tenured associate professor in the Department of English.
Carol D. Frost as professor. She ends her appointment as interim director for SER and continues as a tenured professor of geology and geophysics.
James D. King as department head. He will serve a three-year term.
Robert A. Schuhmann as associate professor. He ends his appointment as department head and continues as a tenured associate professor in the Department of Political Science.
Narina N. Nunez as professor. She ends her appointment as department head and continues as a tenured professor in Psychology.
Carolyn M. Pepper as department head. She will serve a three-year term.
Rebecca J. Hilliker as professor. She ends her appointment as department head and continues as a tenured professor in the Department of Theatre and Dance.
Leigh W. Selting as department head. He will serve a three-year term.
Marianne Kemp as director. She will serve a three-year term.

College of Education
Kent W. Becker as associate professor. He steps down as department head while on sabbatical during the 2008 fiscal year.
Mary Alice Bruce as acting department head.
William G. Berube as professor. He ends his appointment as department head and continues as a tenured professor of educational leadership.
Suzanne Young as department head. She is serving as department head for theDepartment of Educational Leadership.

College of Engineering and Applied Science
Ovid A. Plumb as professor. He ends his appointment as dean and continues as a tenured professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Jeffrey Van Baalen as professor. He ends his appointment as department head and continues as a tenured professor in the Department of Computer Science.
Thomas Bailey as interim department head.

College of Health Sciences
Beth C. Robitaille as associate program director.
Stephan N. Trent as interim director.
Karen M. Wildman as associate professor.
