Election packets and applications are now available in the ASUW Office, Wyoming Union Room 020, for students interested in the University of Wyoming student government. Elections will include positions for senators, president and vice president.
To be eligible to run for senate, students must be registered full-time,
maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average as an
undergraduate and a 3.0 GPA as a graduate or professional student.
Prospective senators must also have no less than 30 hours of college
credit at the beginning of the academic year of their term of office.
Additionally, the student must not have completed fewer than 12 of those
hours at UW.
Those interested in running for the presidential ticket must also be
full-time students with a minimum 2.0 GPA as an undergraduate and 3.0 as
a graduate or professional.
Students running for these positions must have completed more than 60 hours of college
credit and no less than 18 hours at UW.
All candidates must submit an application to the ASUW Elections
Committee before 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 5. Applications can be given to
Ruth Shepherd in the ASUW Office.
The ASUW Elections Committee will host a mandatory candidates workshop
March 5, which will mark the beginning of campaign season. The general
election will take place April 7-9, with all ballots available online
via WyoWeb.
