Groups and organizations at the University of Wyoming will host a variety of events for Women's History Month. The events include films, performances, lectures and other activities.

The schedule of events:
Thursday, Feb. 28, 7:30 p.m., Wyoming Union Ballroom -- The "Sex
Signals" improv group will host an evening of comedy, education and
audience participation focusing on issues surrounding dating, sex, and
date rape on college campuses.
Sunday, March 2, 6:30 p.m., Classroom Building Room 133 -- A screening
of the film "Barbie Nation" will show how Hollywood stars Nora and
Claire survived playing Barbie as children and will investigate what
Bratz dolls and Muslim Barbie have done to Mattel's profit margin.
Thursday and Friday, March 6-7, 7:30 p.m., Fine Arts Center Studio
Theatre -- Cabaret show "Shorts by Skirts" will feature original short
works by Wyoming women. The event is presented in cooperation with the
Women's Action Network, Associated Students of the Performing Arts and
the UW Women's Studies Program.
Friday, March 7, noon, Wyoming Union Room 002 -- A brown bag lunch will
be offered to students with Boston-based dancer, choreographer and actor
Sudarshan as a guest. Sudarshan is known for creating choreography that
addresses issues of gender, gender identity and sexuality.
Friday, March 7, 4 p.m., Fine Arts Center Studio Theatre -- Open class
and dance demonstration, "Gender Transformation in a Post 9/11 World,"
hosted by Sudarshan.
Saturday, March 8, 7:30 p.m., Fine Arts Center Studio Theatre -- Performance by Sudarshan, "An Evening of Classical Indian Dance."
Friday, March 28, 9 a.m.-noon, UW Beta House Medicine Bow Room -- "The
Wage Project" workshop will address the issue of the gender-wage gap in
Wyoming and focus on providing young women the necessary information to
negotiate fair wages in their careers.
Friday, March 28, noon-1 p.m., Ross Hall Room 109 -- A discussion of,
"Getting Even: Why Women Don't Get Paid Like Men," written by Evelyn
Murphy, hosted by the Ross Hall Book Club.
Friday, March 28, 7 p.m., College of Education auditorium -- "The
Meanings of Marriage: Judges, Defendants, and Legal Chance in
Territorial Utah," with a reception following the event. The lecture
will feature Sarah Barringer Gordon, professor of constitutional law,
Arlin M. Adams, professor of history, and Kathryn Daynes, associate
professor of history, all from Brigham Young University. The event is
sponsored by the UW Religious Studies Program.
Saturday, March 29, 7 p.m., College of Education auditorium -- "Two
Voices: Gender and Social Justice Through the Prism of Poetry." The
evening of poetry and audience interaction will feature poets Adrian
Molina and Day Acoli.
Tuesday, April 8, 5 p.m., Prexy's Pasture -- Awareness-raising rally and
march, "Take Back the Night," will give participants the opportunity to
unite to assert that sexual assault and violence against women will not
be tolerated. The event is sponsored by the Women's Action Network.
