Fraternity Wins UW College Bowl

February 4, 2008 — Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity defeated nine other teams to win the 2008 University of Wyoming College Bowl on Jan. 31.

Alex Smeaton (Camden, Maine), John Woodward (Riverton), Christopher Miller (Gillette), and Jesse Taylor (Kaycee) won the competition and an all-expense paid trip to the regional tournament in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The College Bowl is UW's annual knowledge competition that tests general knowledge and quick recall in a question-and-answer game. It provides an arena for the brightest students on campus to demonstrate their skills in varsity competition.

The teams each competed in several rounds, answering questions involving history, literature, science, multiculturalism, religion, geography, current events, the arts, social sciences, sports and popular culture.

Iron Skull, the junior class honorary, and the Associated Students of UW sponsored the UW College Bowl.
