Laramie Contemporary Music Project Features Guest Performers and New Music
February 5, 2008 — A concert and event series, "New Frontiers: The Laramie Contemporary Music Project," will be held Feb. 11-18 in the University of Wyoming Fine Arts Center concert hall.
The performances will feature a variety of guest performers and new
music in addition to performances and compositions by UW music
department faculty members.
Tickets cost $7 for the public and $5 for students and senior citizens.
One ticket will allow entrance to all New Frontiers events. For a

Monday, Feb. 11, 7:30 p.m. -- Duo Braziliana concert: Melanie Ohm
(mezzosoprano) and Rubia Santos (piano) with guest soprano, Maureen
Sorensson.
Wednesday, Feb. 13, 7:30 p.m. -- Barbara Thiem (cello) and Theresa Bogard (piano) recital featuring 20th century music.
Thursday, Feb. 14, 1 p.m. -- New Music Panel Convocation with Gregory
Oakes and other guests plus an "Ask the Artists" dialogue; and 7:30 p.m.
-- Faculty Composers' concert featuring UW faculty and guest artists.
Friday, Feb. 15, 7:30 p.m. -- Michael Kirkendoll piano recital.
Saturday, Feb. 16, 3 p.m. -- Gregory Oakes clarinet recital; and 7:30
p.m. -- Americas Concert featuring composer-in-residence, Pablo Ortiz.
Monday, Feb. 18, 7:30 p.m. -- Winds of Change concert, SPANK music ensemble and guests.
