UW Hockey Club Earns Two Victories Over Montana State

February 26, 2008 — The University of Wyoming club hockey team enjoyed a successful weekend in central Wyoming, earning a pair of victories over Montana State University.

Playing for the first time since a disappointing loss to Dordt College at the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Division III Pacific Regional Tournament, the Cowboys defeated the ACHA Division II Hellcats 5-1 Friday night in Douglas and 4-1 Saturday night in Casper.

UW (14-8) plays a home-and-home series this weekend against the Colorado College club squad. The teams play at 7 p.m. Friday at the Laramie Community Ice Arena and at 8 p.m. Saturday at Honnen Ice Arena in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The Cowboys have beaten the Tigers twice this season, 6-3 Oct. 20 and 4-3 Nov. 17.
