Proposed federal legislation to provide health care for children will be among topics presented during a public affairs program Thursday, March 20, at 7:30 p.m. on KCWC, Wyoming Public Television.
The semimonthly University of Wyoming series, "Wyoming Signatures," will
feature a segment with Marc Homer of the Wyoming Children's Action
Alliance and Research Director Sarah Gorin of the Equality State Policy
Center. They will discuss recent action involving SCHIP (State
Children's Health Insurance Program), a federal government program that
gives funds to states in order to provide health insurance to families
with children.
Also on the program is Mary Randolph of Wyoming's Main Street program.
She will discuss how communities such as Rawlins have successfully
revitalized their downtown areas through historic preservation efforts.
In another segment, UW professors Paul Flesher and Robert Torry will
discuss their new book, "Film and Religion." The book explores how
popular films such as "The Exorcist" and "Jesus Christ, Superstar" use
religion as a means to communicate cultural views or political
ideologies.
"Wyoming Signatures" is produced by UW Television. KCWC can be seen
off-air or via cable in communities throughout Wyoming, including
Casper, Cheyenne, Laramie, Riverton, Lander, Rock Springs, Green River,
Powell, Cody, Sheridan, Gillette, Jackson, Pinedale and Big Piney. Check
local listings for specific channel information.
