The University of Wyoming Department of Music will present a "Spring Swing" jazz concert Thursday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m. in the College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. Admission is free.

This is the final on-campus concert of the year for the Wyoming Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble II, the premier instrumental ensembles in UW Jazz Studies. UW music professors Scott Turpen and Mark Sheridan-Rabideau direct the two ensembles.

The performance will feature a new arrangement and performance by UW music professor Thomas Pfotenhauer, along with a standard big band repertoire and cutting-edge contemporary writing for the traditional 18-piece jazz ensemble.

Later this month, both ensembles will compete at the prestigious Greeley Jazz Festival in Colorado. This festival features some of the nation's finest professional, college, and secondary student jazz performers.
