Grand Teton Lodge Offers UW Certificate Program to Employees

October 8, 2008

A first-year course offered through the University of Wyoming enabled 63 Jackson Lake Lodge employees to complete a Hospitality Certificate Program.

The program sponsored by UW and the Grand Teton Lodge Company was coordinated by the Center for Conferences and Continuing Education, a Division of the Outreach School. The employees received their certificates at a graduation ceremony Sept. 22, at the Jackson Lake Lodge in Grand Teton National Park.

"It was an honor to be a part of the great accomplishments of Grand Teton's many employees," says John Scozzafava, UW Conferences and Continuing Education assistant project coordinator. "There was a sense of pride from everyone receiving a certificate."

The program will be extended to all employees of Grand Teton Lodge Company beyond Jackson Lake Lodge beginning next year.

"We will offer a similar program through UW to the other hotels here in Grand Teton National Park, including Jenny Lake Lodge, Colter Bay Village and Snake River Lodge and Spa," says Bob O'Neil, Grand Teton Lodge Company, human resources director.
