October 31, 2008 — The University of Wyoming Art Museum has been selected to receive a gift of 50 works of art from New York collectors Dorothy and Herbert Vogel.
October 31, 2008 — In an effort to highlight its recent growth, the Department of Geology and Geophysics at UW recently compiled four profiles of its new faculty members.
October 30, 2008 — GE Energy and the University of Wyoming have reached agreement on a proposed development plan for the High Plains Gasification Advanced Technology Center. The agreement outlines the framework for the development, design, construction and operation of the facility, and enables work to begin immediately.
October 30, 2008 — An agreement between the University of Wyoming College of Education and Laramie County School District 1 will enable pre-service teachers in their senior year at UW to be placed in the district's elementary and secondary schools.
October 30, 2008 — In an effort to highlight its recent growth, the Department of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Wyoming recently compiled four profiles of its new faculty members Assistant Professor Po Chen, Associate Professor John Kaszuba, Subhashis Mallick, and Clifford Riebe. October 29, 2008 — To encourage more students to read the front section of the class schedule, the University of Wyoming Office of the Registrar will award two $250 gift cards to the UW Bookstore to two students who find a statement placed in the printed copy of the spring 2009 class schedule.

The UW Professional Writing Minor (PWM) is designed for students in any major in which effective written communication is highly valued. By providing in-depth writing instructions, this minor prepares those who seek writing expertise beyond the University Studies requirements as well as those considering careers in professional writing.
