Laura Uglean Jackson is the American Heritage Center's new university archivist. She replaces Mark Shelstad, who accepted another position in June after serving more than 10 years in the position.

The university archivist oversees the University Archives and Records Management Program, which provides assistance with records management to colleges, departments, and offices at UW. Services include creating records retention schedules, transferring records to the archives, and providing consultation to protect records from disaster and to improve filing systems.

For assistance and additional information, contact Jackson by e-mail luglean@uwyo.edu or phone (307) 766-6832), or go to the Web site at http://ahc.uwyo.edu/about/departments/uwarchives.htm.

Jackson has worked at the AHC since July, 2007. She previously worked at Boston's Tufts University Digital Collections and Archives; the Harvard Fogg Art Museum Archives, and for an architecture firm's information resource department.
