Services Set for Carol Macnee and Susan McCabe

December 21, 2008 — Funeral services for Carol Macnee and Susan McCabe, professors in the Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing, will be held Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m. at St. Matthews Cathedral, Third and Ivinson streets.

They were killed Thursday in a tragic accident on U.S. Highway 287 south of the Wyoming state line.

The university has received condolences from friends and colleagues across the country. One is from Ivinson Memorial Hospital in Laramie. The statement reads in part:

"We know not why these things occur, only that we must endure them. All we know is our loss and how we each feel it and how we each must live it in our daily lives. What we have in common is that we all recognize the loss. That something special is gone from our presence and we will have only a memory of the contribution these special women made to our community and therefore our lives.

"The Ivinson Memorial Hospital family, the administrators, the staff and the Board of Trustees express our sympathy and condolences to the family, colleagues and friends of Professors Carol Macnee and Susan McCabe."
