Relations between Shanghai University and the University of Wyoming were solidified with the recent signing of an exchange agreement.

Under this agreement, two students from UW will study at Shanghai each academic year for the long-term Chinese program in the Shanghai University College of International Exchange Programs in Shanghai, China.

Yarong Ashley, international studies faculty member at UW, says Shanghai University is one of China's key institutions of higher learning.

"Since the 1970s, the College of International Exchange at Shanghai University has provided thousands of international students from around the world with a renowned Chinese language program," she says. "The program offers more than six different language levels and many elective courses that benefit the special needs of each student."

She says high quality teaching coupled with individual language tutorials, diversified field trips, modern housing facilities and experienced on-site staff make Shanghai University "an incredible place to study and learn Chinese language and cultures at the most cosmopolitan city in China."
