Open House Friday for String Academy of Wyoming's New Home
January 7, 2009 — The String Academy of Wyoming will host an open house Friday, Jan. 9, from 3:30-6:30 p.m. to celebrate its new home in Room 317 of the Laramie Plains Civic Center.
"The community is welcome to join in a time of music, refreshments and celebrations," says String Academy Director Sherry Sinift, adjunct faculty member in the University of Wyoming Department of Music. "The academy is an exciting opportunity for students ages 5-18 to study violin, viola or cello with faculty who are specially trained in and dedicated to the musical education of young people."
Students in the academy receive one private lesson and one 60-minute group lesson each week. Performance is emphasized through group and solo recitals. For registration and fee information, call UW Community Enrichment Programs at (307) 766-6802. For scheduling, call Sinift at (307) 766-5243.
