University of Wyoming Events for Feb. 2-8

February 2, 2009 — These are among the public events scheduled at the University of Wyoming Monday, Feb. 2, through Sunday, Feb. 8.

Monday, Feb. 2, 4 p.m. -- Women of Afghanistan, a slide show presentation focusing on Afghan women, UW Anthropology Building Room 150. Free. Other presentations are Tuesday, Feb. 3, from noon-1:30 p.m. in Room 229 of the Education Annex; and Friday, Feb. 6, at 7 p.m. in the Albany County Public Library.

Wednesday, Feb. 4, 7 p.m. -- Renowned marine ecologist and geologist Joanie Kleypas with the National Center for Atmospheric Research will discuss the implications of increased carbon dioxide levels on marine life, Room 129 of the UW Classroom Building. Free.

Wednesday, Feb. 4, 7 p.m. -- UW Women's Basketball, Wyoming vs. New Mexico, Arena-Auditorium.

Wednesday, Feb. 4, 7:30 p.m. -- UW Campus Activities Center presents Chicago's legendary comedy theatre, The Second City, College of Arts and Sciences auditorium. Free.

Thursday, Feb. 5, 7:30 p.m. -- UW Department of Music presents the Chamber Orchestra, Fine Arts Center concert hall. Free.

Friday, Feb. 6, 7 p.m. -- "Spirit of Afghanistan" slide show of Afghan women, Albany Country Public Library. Free.

Saturday, Feb. 7, 2 p.m. -- UW Men's Basketball, Wyoming vs. Utah, Arena-Auditorium.

Saturday, Feb. 7, 7:30 p.m. -- UW Department of Music presents pianist Sun Kyung Lee, Fine Arts Center concert hall. Tickets cost $5 for students and senior citizens, and $7 for others.
