Acclaimed Korean pianist Sun Kyung Lee will present a recital Saturday, Feb. 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the University of Wyoming Fine Arts Center concert hall. Tickets cost $5 for students and senior citizens and $7 for others.

The second half of the program will be a joint performance with UW Professor Theresa Bogard, coordinator of keyboard studies at UW, in piano duets and duo piano works.

The UW Department of Music is establishing an official exchange program with Kookmin University in Seoul, Korea, and Lee will sign the documents during her visit, says Bogard.

Lee has received critical acclaim for her solo appearances with several orchestras such as the Seoul Philharmonic, Pohang Philharmonic, New Seoul Philharmonic and Plovdiv Opera & Philharmonic Orchestra.

Her passion for teaching has led her to involvement in many piano festivals and master classes in Korea, Japan, Thailand, England and the United States. She has taught many award-winning students and is now associate professor of music at Kookmin University in Korea. Lee earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in music at Seoul National University in Korea, and earned her doctor of musical arts degree in piano performance at Boston University.
