Fraudulent E

March 25, 2009

In recent days, an e-mail purporting to be from the UW Alumni Association was sent to UW employees seeking username, password and birth date information.

This is a fraudulent e-mail. It was not sent from the UW system and no legitimate organization would ask for your user name and password.

Information Technology (IT) has filters on the e-mail system that normally catch fraudulent messages and put them in quarantine. But from time to time, some slip through the filter.

If you have questions about any questionable e-mail, please contact the IT Help Desk at 766-HELP.
