UW to Host African Awareness Week

The University of Wyoming will get a taste of traditional African life and culture during African Awareness Week that continues through Friday, March 28.

The Wyoming African Students Association and the Associated Students of the University of Wyoming (ASUW) host the event. The schedule:

Thursday, March 26 -- African Drum Night, 7 p.m., Wyoming Union Yellowstone Ballroom.
Friday, March 27 -- Samite workshop, 4:30 p.m., Wyoming Union Gardens.
Saturday, March 28 -- African Gala Night, featuring Samite in concert, 4:30 p.m., Wyoming Union ballroom, followed by African cuisine at Washakie Dining Center (tickets required). A limited number of free tickets are available Thursday at the Wyoming Union Information Desk from 2-3 p.m., at African Drum Night, or Friday from 4:30-6 p.m. at the Samite workshop.
