Long Range Development Plan Workshop Thursday

April 27, 2009

Opportunities to comment on the university's Long Range Development Plan recommendations will be offered during workshops scheduled Thursday, April 30.

The campus community workshop will be at 3:30 p.m. at the Washakie Center Rendezvous Room. The Laramie community workshop will be at 7 p.m. at the Albany County Library. Everyone interested in the development of the campus is invited to attend.

Roger Baalman, director of Facilities Planning, says the recommendations will include the proposed campus districts (land uses), proposed campus development and additional parking on campus, proposed perimeter and internal street and lane development, opportunities for transit development, traffic calming and restrictions of vehicular traffic through the campus, sustainability, infrastructure development, signs and other planning issues.

The workshops culminate a lengthy planning process that examined existing land uses, capacity for development, space utilization, student housing, vehicle traffic, pedestrian lanes, bicycle lanes and neighborhoods, Baalman says.
