A film about a team's efforts to climb the world's highest peak, Mount Everest, will be shown Thursday, April 9, at 7 p.m. in the University of Wyoming College of Education auditorium.

UW's Nepalese student organization, Friends of Nepal at the University of Wyoming (FNUW), in collaboration with ASUW, will show the documentary "Everest."

The movie shows the challenges the team faced and the tragedy they suffered, culminating in the story of how they found the hope and strength to make it to the top. The movie also includes a description of the training and gear required to climb.

"Everest" is the second highest-grossing IMAX movie ever made. FNUW will give out free posters, CDs and pictures of Mount Everest to the first 100 people at the show. Former chief of the Nepal Tourism Board Tek Bahadur Dangi will answer questions about the movie and Mount Everest after the show.

E-mail abasnet1@uwyo.edu or vsubedi@uwyo.edu for more information about the show.
