These are among the activities scheduled at the University of Wyoming from Friday, April 24, through Thursday, April 30.

Friday, April 24, 5:30 p.m. -- Chicana/Latino Graduation Celebration as part of Semana Primavera (Spring Week), Laramie Railroad Depot.

Friday, April 24, 3:30-5:30 p.m. and Saturday, April 25, 1-4 p.m. -- Afro-Brazilian percussion workshop with Marcus Santos, Washakie Center Rendezvous Room. Registration costs $15 per session or $20 for both sessions. Reserve a spot at, call (307) 760-8279 for more information.

Friday, April 24, 3 p.m. -- Lambda Chi Alpha will host two DJs, donations will support UNICEF. Wyoming Union Skylight Lounge.

Friday, April 24-Saturday, April 25 and Monday, April 27-Wednesday, April 29, 7:30 p.m. -- UW Theatre and Dance will perform operas "Gianni Schicchi" by Giacomo Puccini and "The Medium" by Gian Carlo Menotti, Fine Arts Center main stage. Tickets cost $7 for students, $11 for seniors and $14 for the public. Call (307) 766-6666, go to the Wyoming Union ticket office or go online at to purchase tickets.

Saturday, April 25, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. -- Global Youth Service Day, Curt Gowdy State Park and Vedauwoo Recreation Area. Register by contacting the Center for Volunteer Services at (307) 766-3117. Meet at Simpson Plaza at 9 a.m.

Saturday, April 25, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. -- ACRES Student Farm Work Day, ACRES Student Farm, 30th and Harney streets.

Saturday, April 25, 12-2 p.m. -- Sigma Chi Rubber Ducky Race, Laramie River Green Belt Park. Proceeds will benefit the Huntsman Cancer Foundation.

Saturday, April 25, 1-5 p.m. -- Annual Fiesta - Comida y Cultura (Food and Culture), free taco bar catered by the Library, Wyoming Union ballroom. Free.

Saturday, April 25, 3-6 p.m. -- Volunteer Appreciation Party, Prexy's Pasture.

Thursday, April 30-- UW's Long Range Development Plan preferred alternative will be discussed at workshops: The campus meeting is set for 3:30 p.m. in the Washakie Center Rendezvous Room (lower level). The community is invited to attend the same workshop at 7 p.m. at the Albany County Library. Visit the Web site for more details and updates:

Thursday, April 30, 7:30 p.m. -- Symphonic Band concert, Fine Arts Center concert hall. Free.
