The University of Wyoming Wind Symphony will celebrate the American spirit in music at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 19, in the Fine Arts Center concert hall.

Directed by Professor of Music and Director of Bands Robert Belser, the UW Wind Symphony's "American Dreams" concert will conjure images of immigrants dreaming of a better life, a baseball fan dreaming of his heroes and the national game.

Larry Hazlett, a distinguished professor emeritus from the UW Department of Theatre and Dance, will narrate Aaron Copland's "Lincoln Portrait."

In addition to the musical celebrations, the UW Wind Symphony will recognize its outstanding members playing their final performance with the ensemble: trumpeter Tim Baird, flutist Katrina Harr and saxophonist Andy Peeks.
