9th Street Construction Work Starts Today

May 18, 2009 — The City of Laramie has notified UW that it has scheduled a major reconstruction of 9th Street from Grand Avenue to Lewis Street this summer. This portion of 9th street will be closed from May 18-Aug. 14. See map.

The construction will involve installation of a new water line, storm sewer, curb and gutter improvements and a total rebuild and overlay of the existing road surface. The contractor, Simon Contracting, will designate two pedestrian crossing areas (University and Clark), but overall access in the area will be severely limited. UW also will replace sidewalks on the east side of the project area.
