Memorial Service for UW Student Set for Wednesday

May 19, 2009

A memorial service honoring University of Wyoming student Ninghe Zhang and her family will be held Wednesday, May 20, at 6 p.m. at St. Paul's Newman Center, 1800 E. Grand Avenue in Laramie.

Father Carl Gallinger of Laramie and Chaplain Douglas Arendsee of Cheyenne will preside. The service will include brief speeches and an opportunity to pay respects to the family, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.

In keeping with traditional Chinese services, quietly paying respect to the family is appropriate and preferred attire is black with no red colors. Flowers should be white or yellow with no red/pink flowers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may benefit the Chinese Students & Scholars Aid Fund. Contributions may be made at the First Interstate Bank located in the Wyoming Union.
