Statewide Conference on Non-Credit Programming Rescheduled

"Building Partnerships for Wyoming: Change and Opportunity," the University of Wyoming's second annual statewide conference on non-credit programming, has been rescheduled for June 4 and 5 at the UW Outreach School Building, 951 N. Poplar in Casper.

This free conference begins at noon Thursday, June 4, and ends at 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 5. All meals are included. For information call 877-733-3618, Ext. 2. Check the Web site for agenda and registration information at: outreach.uwyo.edu/conferences/buildingpartnerships.

Sponsored by the UW Outreach School, the conference is offered to professionals in fields within non-credit programming, such as Boards of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES), workforce development, professional education, Cooperative Extension Service and community development and enrichment programs. Community leaders and professionals in the fields of education, workforce development and economics should plan to attend and take advantage of the opportunity to network with their peers.

Conference sessions will include:

-- Wyoming's New Frontier: Workforce Trends Legislative Update -- Jerimiah Rieman, administrator, Wyoming Workforce Development Council and policy and legislative adviser to the Department of Workforce Services;

-- Update on the Economy, Wyoming Review and Outlook -- Buck McVeigh, administrator, Wyoming Department of Administration and Information, Economic Analysis Division;

-- Surviving Change: Thriving on Uncertainty Workshop -- Michael Basinger, training specialist, UW Human Resources;

-- Stimulus Funding -- Lisa Osvold, deputy director, Wyoming Department of Workforce Services;

-- Concurrent professional development sessions.
