UW Karate Club Gets New Name, Head Instructor

June 24, 2009 — The University of Wyoming karate club has undergone a facelift, changing its name and bringing aboard a new head master and instructor.

The club's name has been changed to the Seiyo Shorin Ryu Karate and Kobudo Club to better reflect the club's ongoing and longtime affiliation with Seiyo Kai International, says club adviser Florence Teule, a research scientist in the UW Department of Molecular Biology.

The club will now be led by Leonard Martin. The club will continue its normal training schedule of 7-9 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and 9 a.m.-noon Saturday and Sunday in the College of Education gymnasium.
