The University of Wyoming will implement new parking and transit fees Wednesday, July 1.
The changes, approved by the UW Board of Trustees in May, include increases to fees for all categories of parking permits, a 50-cent spike in the cost of hourly parking meters and a new transit fee for students, faculty and staff. The fee increases will generate an additional $800,000 annually.
Beginning Wednesday, the price for hourly parking meters and hourly day lot parking will increase to $1, day permit fees will increase from $4 to $5 and bulk day permit passes will be on sale for $5.
Also Wednesday, UW TransPark will begin selling 2009-10 student parking permits for $120.
Faculty and staff parking permits will go on sale in mid-July for $180. Information on TransPark services will be mailed to faculty and staff and also be available at www.uwyo.edu/tap.
