McNair Scholars Present Research
August 4, 2009 — Students presented research in areas ranging from communication disorders to renewable resources and microbiology during the University of Wyoming McNair Scholars Research Symposium Friday, July 31.
The McNair Scholars project is a graduate school preparation program for students interested in earning a Ph.D. Services include a paid research internship, mentoring from UW faculty members, GRE (Graduate Record Exam) preparation classes, academic support and tutoring and assistance with the graduate school application process.
The program prepares promising undergraduate students from groups traditionally under represented in graduate education to enter and complete a doctoral degree program.

Program is part of the federal TRIO programs that help students to
overcome financial, cultural, social or academic barriers.
