Wind farms such as this one near Arlington will be among topics discussed during the Wyoming Wind Symposium Thursday and Friday.

These are among the activities scheduled Aug. 10-15 at the University of Wyoming:

Thursday, Aug. 13, 8 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Friday, Aug. 14, 8 a.m. 12:30 p.m. -- Wyoming Wind Symposium, hosted by Gov. Dave Freudenthal and sponsored by UW's William D. Ruckelshaus Institute of Environment and Natural Resources, Wyoming Union Yellowstone Ballroom.

Thursday, Aug. 13, 1-3 p.m.-- Updated information for UW employees who work on the front line will be offered at a workshop in Room 105 of the Classroom Building. For more information, call Winter Hansen, (307) 766-2118.

Saturday, Aug. 15, 11 a.m. -- Vern Cox of the Wyoming Liberty Group will present "What is the Proper Role of Government in Protecting Freedom?," at a constitutionalist workshop in the Big Horn Room of the Wyoming Union. Free.
