UW Outdoor Program Introduces Leadership Series

September 2, 2009

The University of Wyoming Outdoor Program will offer a free program from October through April designed to increase competence in leadership and backcountry skills.

The Outdoor Leadership Development Series (OLDS) will accept 10 students who will learn about technical skills, practice and discuss leadership and receive medical training. Participants will be expected to attend monthly meetings to discuss leadership theories and hear from guest speakers, participate in one OLDS weekend trip each semester and assist at least two Outdoor Program trips per semester.

Applications are due Sept. 15, and then candidates will be interviewed and selected by Oct. 1. Additional information about the program along with applications can be found at the Outdoor Program in the south lobby of Half Acre gym or on the Web at www.uwyo.edu/oap/olds.asp.
