UW Art Museum Accepting Submissions for Touring Exhibition
October 8, 2009 — The University of Wyoming Art Museum is accepting submissions from Wyoming artists to participate in its statewide traveling exhibition service. The exhibition will be seen in museums, galleries, community centers, libraries and schools throughout the state.
"We are delighted to feature Wyoming artists in the touring exhibition service," says Susan Moldenhauer, the art museum's director and chief curator. "This outreach program has high visibility and delivers exhibitions of original art to communities statewide."
Artists must live and work primarily in Wyoming. The work must be two-dimensional, ready to frame, and no charcoal or pastel will be accepted due to the long-term travel conditions. The size of the work cannot exceed 14 x 18 inches in total and size of the image must not exceed 10 x 12 inches.
Slides, photographs, .jpg or .tiff files of the pieces (no original artwork) along with a title, size, date, medium, artist's statement and resume should be e-mailed to email@example.com or mailed to the address listed below by Oct. 22. There is no entry fee or official form to submit.
The tour is anticipated to visit five communities annually for the next three years. In addition, the Art Museum will create educational tools and curricular material that will be online for K-12 teachers.
