Mary Burman, dean of the University of Wyoming Fay W. Whitney School of Nursing, was recently honored as Distinguished Nurse of the Year at the fifth annual March of Dimes Nurse of the Year awards celebration.
Burman was among 20 Wyoming nurses, registered nurses and licensed practical nurses recognized at the event. Awards were given in numerous categories, including ambulatory nursing, critical care, pediatrics, public health and rehabilitation.
The March of Dimes supports research into the causes and prevention of premature birth and birth defects, while bringing information and emotional support to families who have had a premature or sick baby.
