University of Wyoming College of Law students raised more than $1,300 and assembled nearly 80 health kits to send to earthquake victims in Haiti.
More than 30 students participated in the event led by the Potter Law Club and the Wyoming Law Students for Equal Justice (WLSEJ) to help raise awareness, money and supplies for Haitians. The money was raised by selling College of Law clothing over a period of three days through the WLSEJ, says Katie Hogarty, College of Law external relations director.
Mary Rachel Campbell, a third-year law student who worked at an AIDS and tuberculosis hospital for children in Port-au-Prince, says she appreciates UW's assistance.
"The hospital is still standing, but they don't know what they are going to do next," she says.
