The University of Wyoming is seeking requests for qualifications (RFQ) for design-build services for the High Plains Gasification-Advanced Technology Center (HPG-ATC).

The university is printing public notices in the Casper Star-Tribune, Laramie Boomerang and Wyoming Tribune-Eagle today (March 2), March 9 and March 16. Requests for project information and qualification forms must be directed to: Roger Baalman, Director, Facilities Planning Office, University of Wyoming, Dept. 3413, 1000 E. Completed qualification forms must be received in the Facilities Planning Office by 4:30 p.m. MST Monday, March 29.

The HPG-ATC will consist of a small-scale gasification system that will allow UW and GE Energy researchers to develop and validate advanced coal gasification technology solutions for Powder River Basin and other Wyoming coals. The plant is expected to allow engineers to gain experience in advanced coal gasification processes. It also will provide students an opportunity to learn about coal gasification.

The facility will be built in the Cheyenne Business Parkway in Laramie County.
