The University of Wyoming Art Museum's annual summer solstice celebration will be
held Monday, June 21, at 11:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public.
Every year on the summer solstice, a solar tube in the ceiling of the Art Museum illuminates
a silver dollar in the center of the rotunda gallery at exactly noon.
Beginning at 11:30 a.m., astronomer Ray Martin will provide visitors an opportunity
to view the surface of the sun through a filtered solar telescope on the building's
terrace.
