Members of the University Of Wyoming School Of Energy Resources Energy Resource Council
will meet from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. and meet as the Clean Coal Task Force from 2-3:30 p.m.
Friday, Aug. 27, at the UW Hilton Garden Inn Conference Center.
The Energy Resource Council (ERC), comprised of legislators and representatives from
industry, state government and academia, was established by the 2006 Wyoming State
Legislature. It is charged with providing direction to UW's School of Energy Resources
(SER) on priorities for academics, research and outreach.
Among the agenda items are updates on the Carbon Management Institute by Ron Surdam
and Shanna Dahl and a report from Dean Robert Ettema on the College of Engineering
and Applied Science.
The 2007 Wyoming State Legislature created the Clean Coal Task Force, which consists
of ERC members. The task force reviews and evaluates methods to enhance research into
clean coal technologies. The task force is staffed by Gov. Dave Freudenthal's office,
with support from the SER.
The SER provides undergraduate and graduate education, conducts research on existing
and emerging energy resources and disseminates scientific, engineering and economic
information to support Wyoming's near- and long-term energy future.
Persons with disabilities requiring special accommodations to attend this meeting
should contact SER at (307) 766-2663.
More information about the SER is available on the Web at www.uwyo.edu/ser.
