Registrations Now Being Accepted for Wyoming Rendezvous Tour

August 22, 2010

Registrations are now being accepted for the 12th annual Wyoming Rendezvous Tour.

The Rendezvous Tour provides University of Wyoming faculty with an opportunity to visit a region of Wyoming at no cost and to gain an appreciation for the geography, cultures and economy of the state. Participants are typically faculty who are relatively new to UW, but the tour is open to veteran faculty members as well. Residents and community and state leaders have an opportunity to meet and become better acquainted with UW personnel and to share personal professional interests.

This year's tour will explore western Wyoming from Sept. 30-Oct. 3. Overnight trips will be in Rock Springs for two nights and Saratoga. Among the tour stops are visits to an underground trona mine, power plant, Jonah Field oil and gas production facilities, group activities and other planned tour sites. Most Wyoming Rendezvous Tours include stops to local high schools, local businesses and meetings with UW trustees and local legislators.

Hotel accommodations and meals will be provided by UW. Participants travel by charter bus during the four-day tour. The group will leave campus at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, and return to campus at approximately 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 3.

For more information about the tour, or to register, contact Milton D. Ontiveroz, University Media Relations, at 766-6709 or e-mail miltono@uwyo.edu.
