The Outdoor Leadership Development Series (OLDS) is now recruiting

The University of Wyoming Outdoor Program is pleased to announce that they are accepting application for this years Outdoor Leadership Development Series (OLDS). The OLDS is a year-long program dedicated to the development of outdoor student leaders. The focus is on technical skills, leadership theory and practice, as well as medical training. Graduates of the program will have a strong foundation for leading personal backcountry trips and applying to work for camps or adventure programs. Ten participants will be accepted into this free program. Commitments include the following: monthly meetings to discuss leadership theories and hear from guest speakers, one OLDS weekend trip each semester, and shadowing/assisting on at least two Outdoor Program trips each semester. Participants will also take a two credit course, ENR 4890 (Introduction to Outdoor Leadership) in the spring semester. A more detailed description can be found on the website, below. Interested individuals should complete and return their applications by September 15th. Interviews will be held September 20 24 and applicants will informed of the decision by September 27th.
