September 30, 2010 — Lt. Dan Choi, a former American infantry officer in the United States Army who served in combat in the Iraq war from 2006-2007, will speak Wednesday, Oct. 6, at 8 p.m. in the University of Wyoming Union ballroom. The event, part of the Student Activity Council's weekly programming series, is free and open to the public.

September 30, 2010 — Leading ethnic studies researcher, Andrea J. Romero, will lead three programs Monday, Oct. 4, at the University of Wyoming.

September 30, 2010 — Portraits by American pop artist Andy Warhol will be featured in a University of Wyoming Art Museum exhibition "Iconic Mass Culture: Andy Warhol's Portraits," that opens Saturday, Sept. 11. A free public reception is scheduled Friday, Sept. 17, from 6-8 p.m at the museum.

September 8, 2010 — The University of Wyoming's Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) Commission will meet at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15, at Snow King Resort in Jackson. The commission's regularly-scheduled quarterly meeting will follow a two-day conference sponsored by UW's Enhanced Oil Recovery Institute (EORI), also at Snow King. "Recovering Stranded Oil Through Improved and Enhanced Oil Recovery Technologies" will feature presentations on geology, EOR technologies, residual oil zones and EOR screening. The EOR Commission is funded by the state of Wyoming to support the EORI. In addition to its aggressive research agenda, EORI engages in cooperative and contractual agreements with independent producers, and offers short courses, workshops and technical outreach meetings to assist in the transfer of current EOR technologies to Wyoming producers.
