Peterson Named Director of Risk Management and Insurance

September 7, 2010 — Laura Peterson has been hired as the new director of Risk Management and Insurance for the University of Wyoming. She will begin her duties at UW on Oct. 4.

She is currently the director of Risk Management for the state of Nebraska and for the agency general counsel for the Nebraska Department of Administrative Services. She also is an adjunct instructor in the public administration program for the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Additionally, Peterson is the current president of the Public Risk Management Association, a nationally-recognized organization that provides professional support to insurance and risk management administrators.

Peterson received a B.S. in business administration and a J.D., both from Creighton University, and an M.P.A. from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
