WyGISC and Brinkerhoff Geology Library Partner to Provide GIS Data Support

September 3, 2010

With the use of spatial technologies growing rapidly in a multitude of disciplines, access to and use of GIS and other spatially-related data has become prevalent at UW. In order to meet the geospatial data needs of students, faculty and staff across campus, the Wyoming Geographic Information Science Center (WyGISC) and the Brinkerhoff Geology Library have partnered for the fall semester 2010 to provide a venue to answer geospatial data-related questions. This GIS Consultation Desk will be open Tuesday and Thursday 2-5 PM during the fall semester in the Brinkerhoff Geology Library, which is located on the first floor of the S.H. Knight Geology Building in the northwest corner of the UW Campus. Appointments are appreciated, though drop ins are also welcome. Please e-mail georef@uwyo.edu to request an appointment; GIS data questions may also be directed to this mailbox. This is a pilot project developed by WyGISC and University Libraries to support geospatial data needs across campus. The program will be evaluated in December to consider future directions.
